Starting Beach Body On Demand

My slim down from March 2012 to Jan 2013.
A few years ago, I went from 140 to 106 (I am 5"4). I was in my mid forties. I dropped the weight strictly by dieting. Though I did walk my dog a-lot. I wrote about it here .

I kept the weight off - maintaining around 110-115 until I started working at a grocery store in the fall of 2015.

I'd  had some health issues - it seemed I was always battling something (I'd had a full hysterectomy in 2014) but my health did drastically improve when I had my breast implants removed in the summer of 2017.

Anyway. As I write this today, I am at 134 pounds. Too much for my frame. I feel best when I can wear my size 4 jeans. That's Just Me.

The pounds started creeping on when I started working at the grocery store. I was now seeing all the food I usually avoid (the snacks aisles) - and the weight started creeping on. We are influenced by what we are around - and being around a ton of "seasonal" Oreo cookies, "limited coconut ice cream" etc, well, my will power just tanked until I no longer felt good wearing a tank top.

This winter has been brutal. All this snow. The cold weather. All the comfort food. I saw an add for Beach Body On Demand on Instagram (dang, sometimes those ads do work), and I signed up for the 14 day free trial.

So far, so good. There are so many different programs to choose from. Which can almost be frustrating. I started the first day with the 21 Fix and liked the first program but I didn't care for the second day of the 21 Fix and so found myself trying a little of everything. I spent about 60 minutes doing some dancing, yoga, and didn't really click with anything. It was overwhelming. I then watched The 20's (the Reality show trying to find a new instructor to add to their "brand") and THAT was entertaining. I also finished the ice cream  I'd bought before getting serious about losing the weight. I started day 3 doing The Clean program and Beach Body Yoga (link here to story about day 3) - and enjoyed that. Then day 4, I continued with The Clean and Beach Body Yoga (upper body - which was frustrating).

Today is day 5 - I'm going to take full advantage of the free trial. So far, I'm sore, but I'm feeling more confident, eating healthier.

Okay. I did buy some Robin Eggs after my shift at work last night. Because, you know, they are seasonal. And I did eat them last night. That's the one negative (for me) about working out. Often, after I've worked out, I find myself saying "well, you know, I did burn extra calories sooo" - Beach Body on Demand won't fix that - but I know I can. I've done it before, I can will do it again.

Beach Body On Demand Day 3

On March 23 I signed up for the free 14 day trial of Beach Body On Demand. I haven't written about my first two days (but I will) but I wanted to get this experience down while still fresh in my head.
After spending the first two days trying a variety of programs and almost giving up, I watched the marathon of The 20's (the reality show where they pick the next SUPER instructor). I realize the Beach Body is full of sometimes swarmy marketing gimmicks, but if you just use it as a tool to exercise without paying attention to all the bells and whistles, so far, so good.
Anyway.
What I wanted was a program I liked that was simple enough someone like me (having been out of shape for a few years) could start and continue with that wasn't THE SAME every day.
I found CLEAN. Today I did Day ONE (there are 7 days worth of programs) and I also paired it with Beach Body Yoga Day 3 (I believe) - lower body. Both programs kept me motivated, easy enough to understand, mild sweat, and really worked my muscles.
I'd recommend to anyone looking to start the Beach Body On Demand who is totally new to exercise, to start with the CLEAN program. And for fun, watch The 20's - it helps to understand what they go through and I have a new appreciation for the program. However, those weird necklaces they were wearing reminded me of a cult.
So far, as the snow is still flying outside, ignoring the fact it is Spring, I'm glad to have this free trial and hopefully can get a head start on getting back in shape.
SPOILER ALERT ON THE ENDING (don't read past this if you don't want to know)...

I really wish Joe or Ericka or Quinn had won the 20's - but Megan is good also.
